His Story

How did you meet?
Kennetta worked at my bank and she was the girl I kept trying to sit next to and talk to in Sunday school. We were strategically seated next to each other at a baseball game (thanks Phil).
I loved our conversations. We could talk about anything. She didn't even leave me after our 18 mile hike to a parking lot in sandals.

What have been some of your favorite moments with Kennetta?
11-26-07 my finger grazed her cheek. Trip to Texas (all Vacatio'n moments). Salsa dance (all dancing). Valentine's day, getting to spoil her and see that gorgeous smile that melts me.

How did you propose?
With a fair amount of planning and a lot of help from God. I drove over to Bozeman to secretly meet Kennetta's dad for lunch, after the 3 hour prayer/drive we had a great talk and as we are leaving he gives me a letter that Kennetta had written 10 years ago to her future husband. The letter contained 3 Godly principles and a desire for her proposal to be swept off her feet. So now I had a goal but I had to find a way to get there. Lots of ideas rolled through my head, but I decided there was no better way to sweep her off her feet than a couple thousand feet in the air. Her principal would not let me land at the school so God presented me with a horse pasture a half mile away. His plans are better than ours, so I left a note for her at school to go to her car where I had Cora Lynn waiting to take her to the Field. Cora Lynn was under the impression that I was riding up on a horse so they parked and I told Eric (the pilot) to land and all I saw was Kennetta's head in her hands, then her looking up shaking her head and then putting her head back in her hands. I got out of the helicopter, ran over to her hand her a rose and asked if she wanted to go for a ride. The next 20 minutes I was a little nervous but we got to the waterfalls and I asked her to marry me. She answered me with the words "I don't know..." and I almost fell out of the helicopter but she finished with "yes I will marry you". God had his hand in so much of the planning and especially that day holding off the weather (thanks to lots of prayer) that I eagerly await to see what God is going to do with the rest of our lives.

What are some of your favorite things about Kennetta?
Her heart for Christ and others, her smile, her patience with me, how beautiful she is, the funny little things she does that make me laugh, her stubbornness, the way she cares for me... I could go on and on about how wonderful Kennetta is, but I will save that for later.

Her Story

How did you meet?

I first saw Brian when I was working at Mountain West Bank about two years ago. I told my coworker that I thought Brian was handsome (a 9.5 I said). A couple months later I saw a man at church, in our sunday school, that looked a lot like "9.5" - but better looking!:) It wasn't until someone at work told me that Brian had seen me at church that I realized they were the same man:-)

How did he first ask you out?

I had known Brian for quite a few months, and although my roommate thought he liked me, I didn't think Brian had any interest in me at all. It wasn't until we were both at a baseball game that Brian was able to "strategically" sit next to me. He found out that I liked waterfalls and asked me if I would like to go see Morrell Falls up in Seeley the next day with some friends. Well, conveniently, those "friends" weren't able to come for the hike. We had such a great time driving and hiking up to the falls! Our conversation just flowed, and we were even able to discuss some serious things - beyond the superficial - which I loved.

What have been some of your favorite moments?

*Our 18 mile hike to a parking lot - long story :)

*Swing Dancing, Salsa Dancing, Waltzing, Tango etc.

*Learning how to golf

*Traveling to Texas "just because we'd never been there"

*Stargazing at the observatory on top of Blue Mountain

*Hiking, Hiking, and more Hiking - mostly to waterfalls, of course.

*Running our marathons (a half for me, a full for him)

*vaca'tion moments

*and so much more... I could go on, and on...:)

How did he Propose?

This is the part where I look like a crazy person:)...

I had been anxiously anticipating a proposal from Brian for months and was becoming a bit impatient:) I found myself really frustrated Thursday morning because I had been hoping that Brian would propose by the end of November, and it was already November 20th! If I had only known... :)

I was just teaching my afternoon French class when the secretary came in and handed me a note. This note read "pack up your things and head straight to your car". I was more than a bit curious, but I did what it said. When I got out to my car I found one of my friends waiting for me. She asked me to get into her car and we drove out to a nearby field and parked. At this point I was feeling so incredibly guilty. That feeling turned to a mixture of excitement and surprise when I saw a helicopter land in the field and Brian run out to meet me with a rose. We got in the helicopter and flew over to the snow capped Mission mountains and up to some beautiful waterfalls. We were able to get down right over the waterfalls and it was a breathtaking view... Brian then asked me to marry him. The first words out of my mouth were "I don't know why you want to marry me!!" I felt like I had been so crazy the last few months:) But,of course I said "Yes"!

The rest of the evening was a wonderful blur of calling people and making plans as we drove out to Coeur d'Alene to go to the Olive Garden for dinner - which is, by the way, my favorite restaurant:) We ended our evening with a walk along the lake shore in Coeur d'Alene before driving back to Missoula. It was such an indescribably wonderful evening. Words fail... Yet, we are able to see the Lord's hand in everything - including holding back the rain for both our helicopter ride and our walk on the lake shore. I am so incredibly blessed!

Grace, only Grace.

What are some of your favorite things about Brian?

My favorite thing about Brian is definitely his love for the Lord. He is so incredibly wise and spurs me on to be a better woman.

He is a great leader.

I love how much, and how well he cares for me. Sometimes I think he knows me better than I know myself:)

He also just so happens to be the most handsome man I know...

I also have to say that Brian is an amazing dad to Hannah and that I love being a support to him in that area.

There is so much more to add that I will have to write more later:)
